What is KINTO Share?

KINTO Share is a seamless car sharing solution for the staff of National Olympic and Paralympic Committees. With KINTO Share, you have the freedom to find, reserve, unlock and drive a hybrid car 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, from your smartphone. We'll take care of everything else.

KINTO Share will complement the fleet vehicles allocated to you by the Organizing Committee and the cars you rent via Rate Card catalogue. The service is designed to give you extra flexibility during the peak days of your operations or for ad hoc unforeseen transport needs.

SERVICE DESCRIPTION

Why did you develop this service ?
KINTO car sharing service is an additional mobility solution to support the mobility of NOC and NPC staff members during the Paris 2024 Games. It will complement the fleet vehicles allocated to you by the Organizing Committee and rented cars via Rate Card catalogue or another provider. KINTO car sharing service is designed to give you extra flexibility during the peak days of your operations or for ad hoc unforeseen transport needs.
How does it work ?

In February 2024, Chef de Mission of each NOC and NPC will be contacted and asked to nominate a Transport coordinator. This person will be invited to register in KINTO portal and invite drivers from their organization. Invited drivers will register and get their driving licenses validated. As of April 2024, you can start booking the cars: per hour, per day, per several days. A discount will be offered for early bookings, and you will have a security to have a car at the time needed. Bookings will be possible last minute during the Paris 2024 Games as well, subject to cars availability.

At the time of your booking start, find the car you reserved and check car condition via the app. Open the car with a digital key in the KINTO app. Start driving! You can pause your trip at any moment and lock the car via the app. At the end of your trip, bring your car to the original parking spot to complete the trip. 

In which cases do you suggest using KINTO Share?
It's up to you to decide when to use the service! It can be especially practical for the peak days of your operations or for last-minute trips when all of your cars are already in use by your colleagues. 
What is the difference between car rentals via Rate Card catalogue and KINTO Share?

Renting the cars via Rate Card catalogue will allow you to increase your permanent self-drive fleet for the duration of the Paris 2024 Games. You will have peace of mind that the cars are always at your disposal.

KINTO Share service will be available for you in addition to your self-drive and rented fleet: we are providing short-term rentals, giving you extra flexibility during the peak days of your operations or for ad hoc unforeseen transport needs.

During which period KINTO Share will be available?
You can book the vehicle for any period between 12th of July an 9th of September 2024.
Which type of vehicles will be available within KINTO Share fleet?
KINTO Share fleet will consist of Toyota compact cars, such as Yaris, Yaris Cross and Corolla Touring Sports. Minivans will not be provided. If your organization has a need for minivans, we advise to order them through the Rate Card catalogue.
Are KINTO cars equipped with VAPPs?
Yes, all cars will be equipped with circulation VAPPs. You’ll be able to drive on the Olympic lanes and access the pick-up and drop of area at the venues of Paris 2024.
What is KINTO?

Can KINTO Share vehicle be dropped off at any location?
No, you are required to return the car to the original location at the end of your booking. But you can pause your trip at any location in France, finding a parking sport according to the traffic rules and locking the car via the mobile app.

ELIGIBILITY & SCOPE

Who is eligible to drive a KINTO Share vehicle?

The drivers need to fit 2 criteria:

  1. At least 20 years old and a holder of a valid driving license for at least 2 years. Your driver licence should be valid in France: either French or from EU, international one, or have an official translation into French language.
  2. The drivers should be nominated by the NOC / NPC Transport coordinator. Every driver needs to accept Terms and conditions before driving.
Where can I go with KINTO Share service?
You can drive anywhere in France.
Can I use KINTO Share to go outside Ile-de France region (Lille, Marseille…)?
Yes, you can drive anywhere in France.
Can I use KINTO Share to go abroad?
No, you can only drive in France.
Is there a limitation on kilometres per day?
The price (fuel included) will allow you to drive maximum 100 km per day. Extra kilometers will be charged additionally. Full pricing will be shared in February 2024. 
Will KINTO Share be available in Chateauroux or other cities outside Paris?
You can’t pick up KINTO Share cars in Chateauroux or other cities outside Paris area. However, you can pick up a KINTO Share car at one of the stations in Paris and use it to drive to Chateauroux (or any other French city) and use it while based there. You will need to return the car to the original parking spot in Paris.

YOUR TRIP

30 mins before the start of trip, you'll receive a message with the license plate of the car you booked and instructions to reach it.

The car can be opened with a digital key available in the KINTO Share mobile app. More details will come!
NOC/NPC TRANSPORT COORDINATOR

Each organization Chef de Mission will be contacted as of February 2024 to nominate a Transport coordinator. This person will be invited to register in KINTO portal and invite drivers from their organization. We suggest that the Transport coordinator for KINTO Share service in your organization is the same person who is usually managing the regular car fleet and has on overview of the mobility needs of the NOC/NPC staff.

Transport coordinator will choose who is eligible to drive within your organisation and invite future drivers to register. This person will also have an overview of the past and upcoming trips and the overall cost. The transport coordinator will have to organize the payment of its members.

Transport coordinator will be invited to provide details about  their organisation (e.g. legal entity name, billing info). More details will come in February 2024!
PARKING

The shared cars will be located maximum 7 mins walking distance from the official hotels and the Olympic and Paralympic Village, mainly in the underground parking lots. We are now working on securing the most convenient parking spots – we’ll share the map with you in February 2024. You will be requested to bring the car to the original parking spot at the end of you booking.

No dedicated parking will be provided at the venues, but you can access the stakeholder pick up and drop off zone thanks to the circulation VAPPs.

You can park on street according to the traffic rules. In case of paid parking, you need to settle the fee yourself.
INSURANCE

All vehicles are covered by an "all-risks" insurance package, including drivers’ insurance.

Terms and Conditions will include franchise details to be borne by NOC / NPC in case of an accident. More details to come!
ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE

Yes, every KINTO Share ride includes roadside assistance for the driver. In case of an accident, users should call the customer care hotline (24/7).

We provide a 24/7 phone support for all users, including roadside assistance.
FUELING

Service pricing, which we will communicate in February 2024, will include fuel.
Kilometres on top of 100km/day will be charged additionally.

Fuel cards are present in cars' gloveboxes in case users need to refuel during a trip. The pin code will be available in app. A list of compatible fuel stations will be provided.

We kindly ask you to return the car with fuel level higher than 50%. Think about the next user!
PAYMENT AND INVOICING

We will reach out with full information on the service, including the pricing, in February 2024.

Pricing options will be available: per hour, per day, per several days. We will incentivise short-term rentals (< 3 days) in our offering to make sure the cars are fairly shared. We are promoting sharing economy!

Prices will be communicated in February 2024. Pricing will be competitive vs local car rental offering in France. For example, one day of driving a Toyota Yaris will be priced in between 110 and 160€, including fuel, insurance, roadside assistance. Within this price, you’ll be able to drive maximum 100 km per day. Extra kilometres will be charged additionally.

During the NOC onboarding process, we reserve the right to ask for a guarantee deposit to recover potentials fines, extra hours, etc. More details to come.
