Why did you develop KINTO Share car sharing service for Paris 2024?
KINTO car-sharing service is an additional mobility solution to support the mobility of NOC and NPC staff members during Paris 2024. It will complement the fleet vehicles allocated to you by the Organizing Committee and cars rented via the Rate Card catalogue or through another provider. KINTO car-sharing service is designed to give you extra flexibility during the peak days of your operations or for unforeseen ad hoc transport needs.
How does it work?

As of the end of April 2024, you will be able to start booking your cars: per day or number of days, or even per hour. Last minute bookings will also be possible during Paris 2024, subject to car availability.

At your booking start time, locate the car you reserved and check the condition it is in using the app. Open the car with a digital key in the KINTO app and start driving! REGISTER MY NOC/NPC

It starts here. Fill in the form and the KINTO team will reach out to you to gather the data we require. After this, you will be asked to nominate a Transport Coordinator for your organisation. This person will be able to invite to the service all the members of your organisation who might need to drive the shared cars during Paris 2024.

Please remember that registration requires no upfront commitment to use the service: invoices are raised only when cars are booked. Please also note that acceptance of our Terms & Conditions is a necessary condition for registering your organization. The acceptance must be given by an authorised representative of your organization. For verification purposes, we will ask for a copy of the ID of this person.

We invite you to register even if you are not 100% sure you will use the car sharing service: in this way you will have access to the cars in case of ad hoc or last-minute needs.

Once you have indicated your interest, we commit to validating your acceptance to the programme within two weeks’ time. As the service is exclusive to NOC/NPC members, we need to obtain extra validation from the IOC/IPC. Please bear this process in mind.

There is no deadline for registration but please aim to do so as early as possible! Ideally, your registration needs to be completed by mid-April to enable you to make car bookings as soon as they become available at the end of April.  Please remember that registration requires no upfront commitment to use the service, but it opens up the opportunity to book cars should you need to.

We will accept registrations after mid-April and even once the Games are under way. However, although we will do our best to validate your registration in the shortest possible time, we cannot guarantee this will be fast enough to match your need for a shared car.

NOC/NPC TRANSPORT COORDINATOR

During the registration process, the person registering the NOC and NPC will be asked to nominate a Transport Coordinator. They, in turn, will be invited to register with the KINTO portal and invite drivers from their organisation. We suggest nominating the same person who usually manages the regular car fleet and has on overview of the NOC/NPC staff mobility needs as KINTO Share service Transport Coordinator for your organisation.

The Transport Coordinator will choose who is eligible to drive within your organisation and invite future drivers to register. In the event that you choose the “Corporate card” payment modality (more info in the Pricing section), the Transport Coordinator will also have an overview of past and upcoming trips, and the overall cost.

We will share a user guide with the Transport Coordinator, explaining the functionality of the platform and steps such as how to invite drivers or book trips.

PLANNING YOUR TRIP

When and how can I book the car?

Bookings will be open as of the end of April 2024. You will be able to book a vehicle in advance but also last minute during the Games, subject to car availability.

All registered organisations’ Transport Coordinators will receive notification once booking becomes available. Car bookings can be made via the KINTO Share mobile app. Our app is very intuitive, but we will also share detailed user guides that you will be able to consult.

How can I download the KINTO Share mobile app?
The link to download the app is to be shared with drivers when the Transport Coordinators invite them to join their community.
What if I cancel my trip?

Cancellation is free if completed by 15/06/2024 11:59pm. The fee for cancellations after 15/06/2024 11:59pm is €50 per booking.

Additionally, the duration booked will be charged in the case of bookings longer than four days (96 hours) cancelled within one week (168 hours) of the booking start date.

Can I modify the start or end date of my booked trip?

You can extend your trip directly via the app, subject to car availability.

If you’d like to shorten your trip, we advise cancelling the existing one and booking a new trip choosing the same car at the same location. Please note that cancellation fees may apply. Alternatively, please contact our customer support and we will assist you by phone or by e-mail.

The most accessible models in our service are the Corolla Touring Sports and RAV4, the least accessible is the Yaris. Please note that this is an average assessment.

The vehicles provided within the KINTO Share service all have hybrid motorisation. They don’t need to be plugged in and charged. No 100% electric vehicles are part of the fleet. A fuel card is available if you need to refuel.

Please note that kilometres over 100km/day will be charged supplementally. If you are planning a longer trip outside the Paris area, please take into account the charge for extra kilometres.

Fuel cards can be found in the cars' gloveboxes should users need to refuel during a trip. The pin code will be available from the app. A list of compatible fuel stations will be provided.

The driver can also pay using their own method of payment. The receipt needs to be sent to support.paris2024@kinto-mobility.fr. KINTO will then reimburse the refuelling amount within 10 working days directly back to the payement method originally used. The maximum reimbursement amount is the amount of the invoice for the trip, the rest will be added as credits to be used for future bookings.

We kindly ask you to return the car with the fuel level higher than 50%. Please think about the next user!
INSURANCE

All vehicles are covered by an "all-risks" insurance package, including drivers’ insurance.

The Terms and Conditions will include details of the excess payable by customers in the event of an accident. A standard deductible of €900 per rental is applicable.

In the event of an accident with a third party for which you are not responsible, the deductible will be applied initially. It will be reimbursed once the third party’s insurance carrier has accepted liability for the accident.

Whatever happens, you must comply with all our insurance conditions. You may be denied insurance coverage if:

  • The driver is not the user who booked (secondary drivers are not allowed).
  • If you violate our terms of service

This list is meant to be informative, and is not an exhaustive list.

Thirty minutes before the start of your trip, you will receive a message with the registration number of the car you booked and instructions for locating it. Parking access (pedestrian access and vehicle access) details will be visible directly via the app once the vehicle is allocated to your trip.

Parking access (pedestrian access and vehicle access) details will be visible directly via the app once the vehicle allocated to your trip.

The car can be opened with a digital key available in the KINTO Share mobile app. You will receive more details on the process in the user guides, which will be shared with registered users.
VEHICLES

The KINTO Share fleet will consist of Toyota hybrid vehicles: Yaris, Yaris Cross, Corolla, Corolla Touring Sports and RAV4. You can find more details on the specifications and accessibility of the vehicles in this section.

Minivans will not be provided. If your organisation has a need for minivans, we advise you to order them through the Rate Card catalogue.

Be aware that our cars are not brand new, but in a great condition for a pleasant drive.

We do not provide vans with a wheelchair ramp within the KINTO Share service. For wheelchair users who can transfer to the passenger seat, we have summarised the accessibility of each model in this section, highlighting the ease of transfer from the wheelchair and trunk capacity to fit either foldable or rigid frame wheelchairs.

PARKING

During the Olympic Games, the shared cars will be located within walking distance of the selected official hotels in the Paris region and next to the Olympic Village. During the Paralympic Games, the shared cars will be located next to the Paralympic Village.

You can already check if there is a KINTO station close to your staff members’ accommodation. See stations map here. The map may have evolved by the time bookings open at the end of April.

You will be requested to return the car to the original parking spot at the end of your booking.

No dedicated parking will be provided at the at the venues, but you can access the restricted pick-up and drop-off zone thanks to the Circulation VAPPs.

You can park on the street subject to French road traffic rules. In the case of paid parking, you need to settle the fee yourself.
REFUELING

Yes, fuel is included. You can find more details in this section.

Please note also that some damages are not insured, and any of these types of damage will be at your responsibility:

  • Damage inside the vehicle (seats, glove box, etc.)
  • Fuel errors
  • Any breakdown consequent to a misbehavior on your behalf
ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE

Yes, every KINTO Share ride includes roadside assistance for the driver. In case of an accident, users should call the customer care hotline (24/7). We speak English and French.

We provide a 24/7 phone support for all users, including roadside assistance.
PAYMENT AND INVOICING

Please refer to the pricing section.

Pricing options will be available: per hour, per day and per multi-day booking. We incentivise short-term rentals (<3 days) in our offering to make sure the cars are shared. We are promoting a sharing economy!

During your registration, you can choose one of two payment options: a single corporate card for all of your organisation’s trips or each employee pays for their trips using their own card. You can find more details on this section.

Cancellation is free if completed by 15/06/2024 11:59 pm. The fee for cancellations after 15/06/2024 11:59 pm is €50 per booking.
